The day Lisa Porter’s husband, Greg, was run
over by a cattle trailer and airlifted from the family farm in Adams Center to
Upstate Medical Center could have been filled with fear but Lisa chose faith
over fear.
On Saturday, January 9 at 10am at Honeyville Baptist Church, Adams Center, Lisa
will share how faith, love, and many different sectors of the local community
helped her family survive and triumph over the accident that broke Greg’s ribs,
pelvis, hips, collarbone, shoulder blade, several vertebrae; punctured both
lungs; and damaged many nerves, muscles and joints. The Porter family story
provides inspiration for anyone facing a challenge of any kind.
The January 9 program is free and presented by Live More Ministries, a
Christian outreach program for women offered quarterly at churches throughout
the Jefferson County area. The Honeyville Baptist Church Women will offer a
complimentary breakfast from 9am to 9:45am.

Christian Church in Plessis, NY. Her keynote message will be Where is God in My
Storm? The program is a presentation by Live More Ministries. The Thousand

‘Life is full of storms. Sometimes our hearts need to catch up to our heads to really know that we are not alone and that God will take us through to the land of miracles,’ says Patty, a Houghton College graduate who has written nine books and produced seven music CDs and four DVDs.
Her River-Lations video, produced with her husband Bob under the Gold Mountain multi-media production label, Jamesville, NY, earned the highest, 5 Dove rating from the Dove Foundation.
In 2010, she donated her Amy Foundation Outstanding Merit $1,000 award for Biblical reinforcement in a nonreligious publication article to The Father’s Heart Ministries, Syracuse, and Hearts for Youth, Alexandria Bay.
Patty plays piano and guitar, and often records songs set to video of her nature photography, much of it captured near her cottage on the St. Lawrence River. She is known in that area for her River-lations column in the Thousand Island Sun newspaper. Patty and Bob have also written books and produced a video about Singer Castle, which was home to a faith community when it was known as Jorstadt Castle.
Her devotional books include River Reflections, Nature Reflections, A Bird Lover’s Reflections: A 90-day Devotional and Journal for People Who Love Birds, and A Good Paddling. Her nonfiction titles include To Love, Honor and OH BOY! and Perennial Faith.
Patty works full-time as the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatric Residency Program Coordinator at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY.
‘Whether I am at work or at play, on the River or at my keyboard, none of those things really define who I am. I would hope that if only one thing were to come to mind when people think of me it would be in terms of my first love, Jesus,’ Patty says.

Laughter and the Lord in Adams Center May 30
Sarah laughed, Moses
wandered, Jonah pouted, but God reigned. If that sounds familiar to your life,
you are invited to enjoy a free presentation of Laughter and the Lord by Pastor
Cathy Hamilton on Saturday, May 30. The program is a free presentation offered
by Live More Ministries and hosted by the Adams Center Baptist Church at 13394
US Route 11, Adams Center, NY.
For more information about Live More Ministries for women, contact Chris at 315-767-2058, or email sallyj@twcny.rr.com
Pastor Cathy Hamilton, now retired from
20 years of service with Sandy Creek Baptist Church and Calcium Community
Church, and the Ministers at Large program of the American Baptist Ministries,
is known for her sense of humor and distinctive laugh. Cathy will share her
journey from wife, mother to four daughters, bookkeeper, and caretaker to
answering the call to ministry.
“People would never believe I was once a
quiet person. The thought of public speaking made me ill, but I knew God was
calling and I soon learned that when He calls, you answer and He will provide
the means. I pray this program will encourage others. So often, too often, we
are afraid to take that step. Afraid we have nothing to offer. There is no one
that God cannot use to further His ministry. Look at me,” Pastor Hamilton says.
Live More Ministries is a Christian
outreach program for women, offering programs quarterly at churches throughout
the Jefferson County area. On Saturday, May 30, the Adams Center Baptist Church
