God Puts the Pieces Together

On Saturday, January 28, 2012, in Adams, Live More Ministries presents quilter Fawn Sunderland speaking on “God Puts the Pieces Together.” With quilts as illustrations, Sunderland will share thoughts on how the experiences of fear and confusion to joy and peace can blend into a life well-lived. Saint Cecilia’s Catholic Church, 17 Grove Street, will host the free 10am-12noon program with music. Sa...int Cecelia’s Church Women will offer a free breakfast from 9-9:45am.

Fawn is a commissioned lay minister with the Catholic Church, Prayer Coordinator with the international Stonecroft Ministries, National Day of Prayer Coordinator for the Watertown, NY, area, and a member of the Ladies of HOG (Harley Owners Group). She teaches adult Christian initiation classes at St. Cecilia’s and is an international speaker on matters of Christian faith.

“My life has been a wild and woolly ride that has included unexpected freak storms, a disability and depression, but I have also prayed and found God’s peace. At the January 28 Live More program, I look forward to sharing how God makes all the pieces of our lives fit together for ourselves and so we can bless others,” Fawn says.

God's Promises

On Saturday, October 22, 2011, Live More Ministries presents a coffee house-style program by Donna Wratten at the Woodville Congregational Church in Woodville, NY. Donna will speak on God’s promise to walk with believers through any storm or trial. Her program will be filled with music as Donna and her husband Fred have been worship leaders for more than 30 years.

The free program includes a 9-9:45am breakfast served by the Woodville Congregational Church Women and a 10am-12noon presentation. All women are welcome.

Woodville Congregational Church at the corner of State Route 193 and 5868 State Route 120 in Woodville, NY, recently completed a new entry addition to the historic church that dates to the early 19th century.

God's Hand in Life's Losses

On Saturday, August 20th, Live More Ministries presents a panel of four women sharing their real-life experiences with divorce; suicide; the loss of self-esteem, income, homes and stability; and the death of a child. Grace Gardner, Jill Gratch, Kathy Sheley, and Donna Sievers will inspire women with the message of hope and restoration that is found in Christ. The free 10am-12noon program at Honeyville Baptist Church on Route 177 east of Adams Center includes breakfast served by the Honeyville Baptist Church Women from 9-9:45am.

Saturday, May 7 - Living Ready

On Saturday, May 7, 2011, Live More Ministries presents Patty Giles speaking on “Bridal Preparations: Living Ready for Christ’s Return” at Zion Episcopal Church in Pierrepont Manor, NY. The free 10am - 12noon program includes breakfast served by the Episcopal Church Women of Zion from 9-9:45am.

“It is on my heart to help people prepare for the return of Christ so they are not caught off guard. I believe this is crucial for people already in the church and for those who have not yet been born again,” Patty says. “This preparation is similar to a bride preparing for a wedding.”

Patty came to know the Lord after losing her only child, an 18-year-old son, to a car accident in 1988. Patty has ministered the Gospel on mission trips to Ethiopia, Ghana and India. She chairs the Mission Task Force, is a member of the worship team, and volunteers as an art and music teacher at Faith Fellowship Church in Watertown. Patty is married and lives in Adams Center, NY.

Live More Ministries is a Christian women’s ministry based in the southern Jefferson County area and offering quarterly programs at various locations. All women are welcome at May 7 program. Zion Episcopal Church, built in 1836, is part of a 5-building National Historic District. The church is easily found on NYS Route 193 east of Interstate Route 81 and west of US Route 11.

Saturday, February 5th - Leaving a Legacy

On Saturday, February 5, 2011, Live More Ministries presents author and mentor Margaret “Margie” Harryman speaking on “What We Leave Behind” at the Adams Village Baptist Church, 24 East Church Street, Adams. The free 10am - 12noon program includes breakfast served from 9-9:45am; all women are welcome.

Since 2004, Margaret has mentored more than 140 women through her 12-week course on the eight things that older women are supposed to teach younger women, as found in Titus 2:4-5. At the February 5th program, Margaret will share what she wants to leave the next generation. She says, “What we leave behind us impacts those around us, whether it is family members, co-workers, or the community. What we do today can positively or negatively affect generations. Wherever we go, we leave an imprint and I encourage people to choose to leave a trail of goodness and mercy, as in Psalm 23:6."

Margaret has been happily married to Dr. Bob Harryman for 32 years. She is a busy mother of six and grandmother of four. She has been homeschooling since 1984 and is presently in 6th grade studies with their youngest child. The family has lived on Dry Hill since 1987.

Margaret will have copies of her book “Letters to Krista” available for purchase at the February 5th program. The book uses a series of letters to teach lessons in living based on Biblical principles.

Sharon, who has presented inspirational messages in Ogdensburg and Watertown, accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in 1975 and publicly gave her heart to His service at a Billy Graham Crusade in Canada in 1976. She teaches Bible studies and Sunday School, mentors women on relationship issues, and coordinates ladies groups' activities for the Thousand Islands Christian Church in Plessis. Sharon and her husband Edward organize senior group activities for the Church.

"I have felt especially called to be a Titus 2 woman and to encourage other women to be the excellent wives and mothers that God calls us to be," Sharon says.

Susan will share how faith can help people face such real-life challenges as the upheaval of moving a family with children several hundred miles, leaving family behind, and needing to sell a house in one area and find jobs in another.

Susan says, "I look forward to sharing our family motto: Remember who you are and whose you are as you face your giants. I hope the women attending this Live More Ministries program will take home the message that they can let God lead them to work through their challenges whatever they may be and make them able to face their 'giants' without being overwhelmed."

A life-long teacher, she taught gifted students in the Beaver River and General Brown School Districts for a number of years after moving to the North Country region in 1988.

Jennings has a life-story of mission work that includes teaching kindergarten in China, working at an HIV orphanage in Thailand, and mentoring teens in the Philippines, to name just a few of her experiences. She raises all her own support for the mission trips. Here at home, Patty is worship leader at New Life Christian Church in Watertown and the volunteer five-county area coordinator for Operation Christmas Child, an outreach ministry of the Samaritan's Purse international relief organization led by Franklin Graham. Operation Christmas Child collects gift-filled shoeboxes for distribution to children around th world and provides additional assistance year'round. Jennings has helped deliver the boxes to Burkina Faso, Africa, and most recently to children in Ecuador.

Jennings says, "My mission is to help people understand how much God loves us and to believe that they are precious to Him. The May 1st program will include singing, worship, and a presentation on who we are in Christ and how we can be set free in Him."

Ginny, an English literature graduate of King’s College, says, “I look forward to sharing the scriptural inspiration for how the life and love of Christ can flow out of people to help others. We can be encouraged by the scriptures that talk about being trees planted by water and rivers running by the throne of God. I invite people to come see what God has for them.”

Ginny has written a number of spiritual dramas performed by church groups. In 2009, Bob Jones University Press published her first children’s chapter book. A Ram for Isaac tells the story of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice for God from the perspective of Abraham’s son Isaac. She will autograph copies of the book at the event.

North Country residents will recall that Ginny and her husband Pastor Ray Merritt served at Honeyville Baptist Church 11 years ago. Today, they serve the church community of the Second Baptist Church of Edmeston, NY.

The first event was a wonderful morning of fellowship and learning attended by about 70 women from all over the county. Special thanks to the ladies for a great breakfast, to Cheryl for her wonderful teaching on Motivational Gifts, and to everyone who helped in so many ways.
